Let me add something about Cat Grant in the episode "Pheromone, My Love": she didn't just "flirt" with the copier repairman, she had her way with him. There's a scene where Clark x-rays the door to the copy room but the camera doesn't show it (obviously), we just hear her laughs and the guy's groans, trying to keep up.
Unless there was a screenplay error, Cat and the repairman had their "private party" for the two days that spanned the episode until the scene on Day 3 where a disheveled Cat breaks the copy machine again, signaling to an exhausted and horrified repairman that she wants more.
The final joke of "What perfume? I didn't get sprayed" in my opinion wasted all the previous scenes. So Cat wasn't high on the chemical and willingly seduced and kept a plain, bald guy (you have his picture) under her sexual dominance for three days straight?

Are you a Geoff Johns fan? Or perhaps still think Garth Ennis has anything original worth writing about? You are tearing into a guy that, in fact, revived Marvel from selling their own furniture to keep the lights on. Seriously? You don't know shit about art. Are you a big Rob Lefield fan? I bet you are. I'm sure he could crank out a 12 issue book in a matter of... 3 years and his art is done in just pencil and looks he drew it with his left foot. This was actually painted. Takes some time. As far as racial sensitivity, "spilling spaghetti" on the art? That statement alone leaves you looking the ass. You want to bitch because you have no talent yourself and that isn't Bendis' fault, look to your parents.

I enjoyed listening to this but with my senior citizen's sense of hearing some parts were just difficult to understand; most especially when books and/or authors were mentioned or recommended. I agree with everything you noted: Colonel Fitzwilliam, mysterious woman in woods, Darcy shouting...at servants, Elizabeth allowed to rush onto the gallows. But I heard no mention of the bedroom scene?

I have always said that the 1985 P&P movie followed the book best but David Rintoul is not my favorite Darcy. I did watch the Lizzie Bennet diaries...a while ago. Darcy and what is going to be your next subject ?

What are the name of the books you recommended? I could not catch those.
I did catch A Will of Iron: read & reviewed.
An anthology of what?
Read The Darcy Monologues.

I have watched many of the PBS British mystery productions, even binge watching the one favorite one. Right now I am binge watching Elementary on HULU.

Recommendations of murder mysteries with ODC:
1.) The Inseparable Mr. and Mrs. Darcy by Jennifer Joy (and the others in this cozy mysteries series)
2.) Pride & Prejudice & Assassinations (Pride & Prejudice & Assassinations #1) by Leo Charles Taylor and sequels

I would have enjoyed seeing this more as a video with your faces, your expresses etc. I just find it very difficult to sit and listen to voices with my hands doing nothing...although I did try a few hands of Solitaire as it is not much of a though process which would distract me from listening to this podcast.

Beau, that you for giving me the link to this. It is not a book or a movie I can recommend to others. But as you said the sets were beautiful.

I'm a huge Bridget Jones fan so I really enjoyed this podcast. Soooooo much yes regarding Colin Firth's eyes - I cannot think of any other actor with the ability to convey such a wide range of emotions with their eyes alone. Truly astounding.
On the subject of the fight, I remember gasping aloud the first time I saw that last punch fell Daniel. Who knew Mark had that in him? And yes, he took it too far but once he lost command of all that pent-up frustration over Daniel shagging his wife and then Bridget, it was perhaps inevitable.
What's more, he does pay (albeit temporarily) for his actions as Bridget rushes to Daniel's side and makes it clear she is far from impressed. Mark departs absolutely crushed, no doubt thinking he has lost her to Cleaver yet again.
I am also in agreement regarding the Diary kiss: Notorious is without doubt the best movie kiss of all time, but Diary's kiss in the snow is definitely hot on its heels.
As for Bridget Jones's Baby, it's a fitting end to this franchise. It's not flawless, but it has warmth and charm and is a much more satisfying follow-up to Diary than the horribly disappointing Edge Of Reason. Baby is also a showcase for Colin Firth's eyes - but more often than not, what we see in the eyes of the older Mark Darcy is almost too painful to bear at times. It's Renee's film, but the really affecting performance is definitely given by Colin.

Also, Bud Fowler, George Stovey, and Sol White were not MLB players. White played one game, but no one knows if he played openly as a black man. Where did you get the fugitive slave info about Ma and Pa Walker?

I've watched BJD through end to end once, and seen numerous bits if scenes, and wasn't a fan. Clearly I need to suspend my Hugh Grant snark, my Reneé snark, and my "Colin how could you?" and watch it through again. You've convinced me. Also, nice sound balance on this episode.

Can't wait to hear your take on P&P&Z. Try to be mildly inebriated and have an open mind. Just after the Hunsford Proposal, have two more drinks to see you through to the end. In its way, it is a comedic tour de force, at least until the finale.
