Episode 57 – The JAFFcast Volume 4: Green Card with Jenetta James

51BEC0Mnp-L._SX331_BO1,204,203,200_ This week Beau is joined by author of ‘Suddenly Mrs. Darcy’ and ‘The Elizabeth Papers’, Jenetta James. Beau and Jenetta step away from traditional JAFF retellings to look at an Austen-inspired modern romance, Elizabeth Adams’ ‘Green Card.’

They also discuss Austen’s lasting legacy and untraditional variations of Pride & Prejudice.

Recommendations for this episode: A Searing Acquaintance by J.L. Ashton, and the many works of Abigail Reynolds, Lady Bridget’s Diary by Maya Rodale, At the Edge of the Sea by Karen M. Cox

Beau grew up in South Carolina but now calls Portland home. She can get by pretty much anywhere as long as she has her books, iPhone and Netflix.

GREAT interview/conversation. I adored Green Card, having followed it at AHA when it posted, and bought the paperback to see how editing for publication would effect the story. Incidentally, the “lemon salad” recipe is now firmly in the regular rotation in the Beutler household. I made a cookie recipe, which I quite enjoyed but my husband found too complex, flavor-wise. He likes a simple cookie, and he is the choc-o-holic in the house!

As Jenetta stated, we have met, and what a delight to hear her voice again! I look forward to her next novel.

And Beau, this was the best podcast yet!
